Avis aux coeurs sensibles (comme moi): beurk ces photos sont dé-gou-tantes!
Are you still asking yourself what Erica spends her time doing ? Well, she has sewn two enormous cloth seals for a permanent exhibit about the Arctic. We can open the bellies of the seals and discover their organs and learn how they are – or were - used by the Inuit to ensure their survival in the great Aglagla of the north (they would eat all of all of the seal) and also created objects from the seal bodies (make tools, clothing, or toys…)
Well…. In the end I became attached to these big beasts, and the raplaplas and I were very sad to see them go. Th exhibition is faaaaar away : you have to go all the way to the Children’s Museum in London (Ontario) to find the seals ! If you come accross them there, can you send me some news !? Snif….
